Before assuming as interim president of Venezuela, Juan Guaidó already held political functions as a deputy of the only organ constitutionally elected in Venezuela: the National Assembly. In his second term as deputy he is appointed president of the Parliament to his surprise, since according to the governability agreement reached by the opposition in 2015 each year it would be occupied by one of the five most important political parties, and this year corresponds to Popular Will, the party where he militates.
